During a weekend trip to Northumbria in June we took a boat trip to the Farns.
The Arctic terns nest either side of the path on inner farn, and as people walk up the paths the terns attack in an attempt to protect their eggs and chicks.
As a result the opportunity to take photographs of the birds attacking is one that any photographer should take< only be sure to wear a good hat – these little birds will draw blood! (seriously).
Also seen on inner farn are the puffins amongst other birds.
